After an overdose that almost took his life, him and his wife made a drastic life change. EJ is now committed to sharing the Gospel and serving people in the community. He is always discipling others and holds weekly Bible studies in his barber shop. He was truly called out of darkness into His marvelous light!

This month John Stroup is speaking with Mike and Kim Estell. Mike and Kim both lived a life of addiction which led to many run-ins with the law. They both hit rock bottom and found Christ. Both are Discipleship House graduates. After their graduation, they met and began dating and were married. Mike is now a graduate of Bible college, a pastor, and a certified Biblical counselor. Kim is finishing her college degree, works at Freeway Headquarters, and is running the Freeway Marshfield Women’s Discipleship House. God has extraordinarily changed the path of their lives. They both thought they had things figured out, but eventually learned that God had better things planned for them.

This month on the podcast we have Andy Daniels joining John Stroup in conversation. After a life of addiction, Andy made his way to Freeway. Andy is a graduate of the Freeway Men’s Discipleship House where he responded to the call of ministry. After graduation, Andy went on to Bible college where he received his bachelor’s and master's degrees. He moved to South Dakota to plant a church in Box Elder. He and his family still live there and are actively serving at Freeway Rapid City, SD. Take some time to listen to his story of how God radically transformed his life. He went from being a Shriner clown and making people laugh for a moment, to being a pastor, where he is introducing people to Jesus Christ, who can give them real joy for eternity.

After years of her personal struggle with addiction, Millie found herself in a desperate situation; she was a mother of 3 small children and married to an addict. She made the very tough decision to raise her children alone in the church house instead of the dope house. It definitely has not been easy, but God has been faithful. He has placed her with an amazing support network–a chosen family that helps her raise her boys in a God honoring way. Too many times we stereotype what an addict is “supposed” to look like. Would you be shocked to find out a deacon or elder in your church was entrenched in a drug addiction? In this episode, John Stroup speaks with Brad and Kim Taylor about how Brad’s struggle with a pain pill addiction led to an out-of-control dependency on drugs. It nearly destroyed his life and drastically changed their normal. This podcast episode is an example of what can happen when a family stops enabling, and an individual surrenders to God. The Taylors are dear friends of Freeway Ministries, and we are honored they shared their very personal story with us!
